Citroën Sales Surge in May
Citroën sales experienced a significant boost in May 2024, driven by strong performances in both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Passenger Car Standouts
The Citroën C3 emerged as a top contender, registering an impressive 2,823 units in May, a staggering five-fold increase compared to the same month last year. This surge highlights the growing popularity of the C3 in the passenger car market.
Citroën’s dominance extended beyond the C3. The “Made in Spain” Citroën C4 maintained its leadership in the C-segment category throughout the first five months, with a total of 4,777 units registered.
ICE and Electric Success
Citroën secured the second position in the ICE category (petrol, diesel, and MHEV hybrids) for May, with 5,241 registrations and a remarkable 9.2% market penetration rate.
Citroën remains a frontrunner in the electric vehicle market as well. The Citroën Ami, slated for a range update soon, leads the electric quadricycle category with 199 registrations this year. Moreover, Citroën holds the leading position in the 100% electric commercial vehicle market, boasting 433 registered units and a 15.9% market share in the first five months of 2024.
Overall Market Strength
Citroën’s entire range secured a strong position in the top 5 of the market for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles. In May alone, Citroën achieved a remarkable 6,494 registrations and a 5.9% penetration rate. The brand’s performance throughout the year has been equally impressive, with a 12% growth and a 5.6% market share achieved through 28,295 units registered in the first five months of 2024.
